The begining...

So the other day Dustin and I submitted our adoption application to Children's Hope International Adoption Agency. We are sooo excited! Adoption is something we have always talked about and feel so lucky that we will be able to do in the very near future. Our next step is completing our home study. We are so glad to be able to share our experience with you all. Thank you for all your support!

  4. Hi, Liz! I just left a comment on your 2nd post. Got here by your post on Adoption Fundraising, but I'm a CHI mami, too! I adopted 3 sibs from Colombia, and my husband and I are going back for a second daughter, our fourth child. We are just beginning the process again with CHI.

What country are you and your husband interested in?

I will add you to our blog reader. Also, CHI has a yahoo group that is available much like the adoption fundraiser group that might be helpful as you are going thru each of the stages. You can post questions/thoughts and those who have walked thru that or are experiencing/having some of the same ?s/thoughts can respond and add great encouragemt to your journey.

I saw on your other blog that you are from north TX. We live in South MS now, but I am from North LA, near Shreveport from a town called Homer. I went to school at Tech. My brother lives in S'port. Who knows we may get to meet one day! There is another Adoptive Mami that was w/ CHI that lives north TX, too.
    Anyways, great to meet you!

  5. Hi Liz and Dustin,
Welcome to this wonderful world of adoption! The efforts put forth now will pave the way for the joys that are to come, even though the wait is tedious. Keep the faith throughout the process and you'll be just fine! Hey, I found your blog on one of the Colombian groups that I belong to, not sure of which one I saw it on. I've been meaning to drop ya a line for a while now but am finally finding that moment. I think I'm the mami Wendi was referring to that lives in north TX. We're around the Red River north of Dallas and if you're anywhere around here I'd love to hear from you. My email is mostfree@yahoo.com. Anyways we have 4 children (3 are siblings from Colombia, adopted in Dec. 2007). We're engaged in the adoption process again ourselves for a sibling group, but this time our plans are to adopt domestic.

I look forward to cheering you on as you make your way through the process! I look forward to hearing more!

    Genece H.
